Event began north of Campbell County and ended at Caryville

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County authorities received word of a road rage case between the drivers of two vehicles headed their way at 2:04 Friday morning. Officials with Campbell Central Dispatch confirmed that speeds of the two vehicles involved were clocked at 136 miles per hour as they passed through Jellico on I-75.

Some 18 minutes later, the road rage participants were stopped just south of Caryville Exit 134. Officers with Jellico and Caryville Police and Campbell Sheriff’s Deputies responded.

Officers dealt with those involved with the road rage episode without incident. There were no arrests, according to one official. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/01/2024-6AM)

  1. What was the point of even stopping them then if there were no charges, looks like speeding could have been 1 charge and reckless driving another, sounds stupid to me.
