JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Tonight marks a special anniversary for the Young Voice of the Cougars. Two years ago, Friday, February 10, Whitley County’s varsity boys and JV boys teams paid a visit to John Brown Gym. It marked the radio and television debut of Clayton Carroll. The barely 16 year old sophomore moved from calling games in front of the television in his family living room to actually being live on WLAF radio and television.
Clayton’s not slowed down since. He’s been calling football and basketball games for two seasons now over WLAF.
Congratulations, Clayton. Keep both hands on the wheel and keep moving forward. Big things are ahead for you in your budding broadcasting career. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-02/10/2025-6AM)
Clayton, it has been an honor to work with you over the past couple years and see you excel in your career. I’m excited to see what your career brings you. We’ll all be listening to you on ESPN two years from now and I’ll bet you a Snickers bar on that.
