LFD extinguishes car fire, saves home from catching fire

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Firefighters with the La Follette Fire Department snuffed out a car fire early on Tuesday morning.

The call of a car on fire in the driveway of a home on South 7th Street came in to La Follette 911 just after 4:30 am.

Upon arrival, flames could be seen coming from under the car that sat just a handful of feet away from the home. Heavy smoke lifted high above the auto.

Two LFD engines drove up a steep portion of South 7th Street from West Hemlock Street to battle the blaze. Firefighters staged both units on West Kentucky Avenue going down the hill with fire hoses to spray water on the car.

La Follette Fire and Police responded to the call. The scene was cleared at 5:30 am. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/01/2026-6AM)
