LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The monthly meeting for LaFollette”s Regional Planning Commission was a short and sweet one Thursday afternoon at City Hall.

The first item on the agenda was an item that was tabled in last month’s meeting. Tony Johnson wants to divide two lots located behind Eagle Tires. The motion was approved.

Lastly, there was a special exception request from the Hope and Stand Church/Cumberland Hope Community Church. The church was asking for permission to change the usage of the old Big Lots building (behind the former Long John Silver’s) from a Mercantile occupancy to an Assembly occupancy. Codes officer, Stuart Hurwitz, spoke up first saying that according to codes the special exception is not required in their case and recommended refunding the Church the fee for coming before the Commission. The church will continue to work with the codes officer as it renovates the building. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-02/28/2025-6AM)
