Friday night troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be stopping vehicles on Demory Road

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Tonight, the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in La Follette along Demory Road near the White Bridge at Lonas Young Park. The New Years Eve checkpoint, also on Demory Road, netted two arrests.

Troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who are driving impaired/driving under the influence in the State of Tennessee. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found Sobriety Checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing DUI laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protections of all motorists.
