LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- The Quilt Patch has moved to a new location in Woodson’s Mall and is now located next to Five Below, on the other side of the Food City Shopping Center. They finished the move just a few weeks ago and are “Open and ready for business.”
Got sewing or quilting projects you are working on? Come down to The Quilt Patch in LaFollette, the only full-service fabric and sewing shop in the area. Owned and operated by Marie King.

The Quilt Patch has long arm sewing machines and can do the custom quilting for you.
The Quilt Patch offers long-arm sewing machine rental for those who want to come in and work on their own quilts but also has employees that will operate the long-arm sewing machine and do the quilting for a fee.
“We quilt for people, we custom quilt for people who bring their tops in, and we do the quilting, that’s the main part of our business,” King said.
The business was started by Joyce and Wayne Morgan, in Woodson’s Mall about 19 years ago. King said she began working for Joyce around 15 years ago.
“My husband worked at Sears, and he said there was a fabric store, so I went up there and talked to Joyce and she asked if I sewed and I said yes and she said, ‘do you want a job’ and that’s how I started with Joyce,” King said. Around three years ago, King bought the shop when the Morgans retired to Florida. King had always sewed clothing and did altercations; it was working at the Quilt Patch that got her into quilting.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s been fun,” King said.
King also wanted to say “thank you” to all her loyal customers for their business support.
“It’s thanks to all of them that we’re still here,” King said.
The Quilt Patch is located in Woodson’s Mall at 2221 in Suite C-2, Jacksboro Pike in LaFollette, now next to Five Below. The shop can be reached by calling 423-562-4420 and is open Monday through Friday from 10 am till 5 pm and Saturday from 10am till 3 pm.
