CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- The Campbell County Board of Education held its March meeting on Tuesday at the White Oak Elementary School gym, announcing two senior student representatives to sit on the school board, as well as two “alternate members” from area high schools.

Madison McCullah was chosen to represent Campbell County High School and Raylee Loudin was chosen to represent Jellico High School. Each school had an alternate chosen as well, with CCHS’s being Timothy Humphreys and Jellico High School’s Savannah Lay.

“The board approved to place junior board members on the board. These are high school seniors who will participate in sharing their voice in making policies and be a liaison between the school system and the community to relay information to the school board, so we hope that adds another element for our students to have a voice in what happens in the school system,” Director Jennifer Fields said.

Each high school chose representatives through a voting process with a leadership committee which interviewed the applicants.

Choices were made based on GPA, academic performance, extra-curricular activities, community involvement and through the interview process.
