Work began Tuesday on shoulders along a stretch of the new Highway 63-General Carl Stiner Highway

Imperial Heights Lane is the first of the added shoulders along the new Hwy 63-Stiner Hwy

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Talk to anyone who travels the new four lane stretch of Highway 63-General Carl Stiner Highway on the east side of La Follette, and they’ll likely have a complaint to share. Beginning Tuesday, crews with TDOT began addressing perhaps the most complained about part of the new highway, lack of shoulders at intersections.

TDOT plans to add about 12 shoulders to the intersections, according to one TDOT official.

Expect works crews to be out again on Wednesday.

Eagle I shares a high up photo of the work at the Davis Chapel turn.

Work began on the Davis Chapel shoulder started Tuesday.

The Wildwood Circle sign, once about to fall, has since been secured.
