CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- Educators make a difference in students’ lives every day. For many students, having a school employee who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher, or school employee who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hardworking educators with a weekly feature.

Olivia Lobertini is Eagle Tire Pros Educator of the Week. She is the career and technical education coach and co-athletic director at CCHS.

Olivia Lobertini is Eagle Tire Pros Educator of the week. She is the Career and Technical Education Career Coach for Campbell County High School and the Co-Athletic Director alongside Ryan Browning for CCHS.

“My job is always exciting whether it be walking into a culinary arts classroom to judge a contest or going to a basketball game – it is never boring,” Lobertini said.

Born and raised in Campbell County, Lobertini said she left the area for school, but after she graduated, she felt pulled to come home and be a part of the community she loved so much growing up.

According to Lobertini, being a teacher is in her DNA as three out of four of her grandparents were educators.

She said many of her own teachers also inspired her to follow a career in education.

“I had many amazing teachers that showed me kindness, grace, and an enthusiasm for learning. Their eagerness to come into the classroom and have fun teaching every day showed me from an early age that being a teacher was an exciting career, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that,” Lobertini said, adding that she would be remiss if she didn’t mention “the best teacher in the world, Jan Hicks. My grandmother was my kindergarten teacher, and I remember every day being exciting and full of learning.”

Lobertini attended high school at J. Frank White Academy and went on to the University of Tennessee for college. She went back and obtained a master’s degree from UT in 2020.

She said she enjoys being the CTE coach and wants to continue the tradition in that department that was started by those before her.

“I think both CTE & Athletics are such a vital part of the high school experience, and I have seen so many people contribute to these areas from Jim Pierce and Sherry Chapman to Connie Crutchfield and Traci Chambers. I want to carry on their excitement and passion for these departments,” Lobertini said.

Another favorite part for her is where she works.

“I love working at CCHS because you’re surrounded by passionate and hardworking educators and staff members who show up every day to dedicate their lives to the children in this community. We truly feel like a family, and I honestly believe we all root for one another,” Lobertini said.

In her spare time, Lobertini “loves to play pickleball and golf, read, and play with her 12-year-old pup, Luna.”
