Matthew Wayne McClellan, age 52, of LaFollette

Matthew Wayne McClellan, age 52, of LaFollette, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Coolidge First Baptist Church and found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and most of all, being with his family, friends, and his dog, Callie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents: James A. and Christine McClellan, and Howard and Hazel Beasley.

Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Ron and Lura McClellan; devoted sister, Amy, and her husband Randy Hammac; cherished niece and nephew, Karla Cummins and husband Tyler, and Logan Hammac and wife Kelsey. He was a proud great-uncle to Cooper, Caroline, Tucker, Marleigh, Carter, and one more little blessing on the way. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Kohlmeyer and Brother Aaron Thompson.

Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Longmire Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Saylor, Aaron Thompson, Logan Hammac, Tyler Cummins, Curt Beasley, and Will Beasley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Coolidge First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 504, LaFollette, TN 37766.
