Wlaf1450Mr. Joe F. “Jody” Wilson, age 61 of LaFollette passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was a 40+ year employee with LaFollette Utilities Wastewater Treatment Facility and attended Clear Branch Baptist Church. Joe was a dedicated family man and adored time spent with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois (Paul) Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lisa Wilson; son, Isaac Wilson; daughters, Brittany Beason and husband, Matt, Barbara Burress and husband, Josh, and Shannon Carroll (Justin Thompson); grandchildren, Domanic, Jewell, and Leia Burress, Claire and Hayes Beason, Brenlee and Rutledge Wilson, and Ethan Carroll; father, Joe Wilson; brother, Jimmy Wilson and wife, Brenda; along with several nieces and nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Danny Riggs and Rev. Kenny Allen officiating. Family and friends will meet on Thursday, July 23, 2026, 10:30 AM and proceed to Peabody Cemetery for 11:00 AM Graveside Services and Interment. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Joe F. “Jody” Wilson.
Joe and I started at the LaFollette Wastewater Treatment Plant on the same day. I worked with him for about 3 years and he was a great guy. I know he loved his children very much. I hate to hear of his passing. Prayers for the family!
