Herman Edward “Eddie” Carroll, 76, of LaFollette

Herman Edward “Eddie” Carroll, 76, of LaFollette passed away on May 2, 2026.

A graduate of Cumberland College, Eddie was an avid outdoorsman, and devoted car

enthusiast. He never knew a stranger and greeted everyone he met with an infectious smile

and a kind word.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Grace Carroll; father-in- law and

mother-in-law Joe and Jean Herrell; brother Miles Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeannie Carroll; his son, John Carroll (Keisha); and his

daughter, Cara Beth Nidiffer (Todd). He was a proud grandfather to Jonathon Carroll

(MaKayla), Kinsley Carroll, Lauren Nidiffer, Anna Grace Nidiffer, River Carroll,

and Haley Kramer.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jeff Herrell (Jennifer); sisters-in-law Beth

Richmond (Bill) and Debbie Taylor; and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Joe

Herrell (Rebecca), Jeffery Herrell (Kylie), Matthew Herrell, Zachary Miller, Reese Richmond,

Jessica Stanley (Tate), Joshua Taylor, Alex Taylor, Gentry Herrell, Georgia Herrell, Jasper Herrell, Zoey Herrell, Ethan Stanley, Aunt Carolyn Vinsant and many cousins.

In addition, Eddie is survived by a special family friend, Tabitha Russell, who was

considered a second daughter.

Eddie’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to their friends who

delivered meals, made visits, and offered support in so many meaningful ways. Special

thanks are also extended to Pastor Tony McAfee (Covenant Life Church), Pastor Allen Shepherd (New Life Ministries) and Pastor Troy Arnold (Caryville First Baptist Church), the LA Cruizers Car Club, UT Hospice, the “Breakfast Club,” and friends and coworkers from the Department of Children’s Services for the compassion, care, and support during this time.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at New Life Ministries, with funeral services to follow, led by Pastor Tony McAfee and Pastor Allen Shepherd. Family and friends will meet at 10am on Friday, May 8 and proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for 11am Interment. Pallbearers will be John Carroll, Jonathan Carroll, Todd Nidiffer, Joe Herrell, Zachary Miller, Jason Heatherly, Larry Nidiffer, and Joe Blackwell.
