Alice Faye Boshears, age 88, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Tennova LaFollette Health and Rehab surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 26, 1937, to the late Otis “Spot” and Minnie McGhee Shetterly. Faye was a faithful member of Woodlake Baptist Church for more than 40 years. She was renowned seamstress and enjoyed cooking, canning, cleaning her house, and taking shopping trips with the ladies from her church. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, grandsons and great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of more than 63 years, Cal Boshears; daughter, Jana Kay Boshears; brothers, William “Bill” Shetterly, and Albert Shetterly; sister, Irene “Toots” Peterson; and infant sisters, Christine and Uldene Shetterly.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Gayle and husband Micky Carter of Jacksboro ; sons Gordon and wife Lois of Arlington, Texas; and Wendell and wife Heather of Jacksboro; granddaughter, Erica and husband Tyler Kirby of Jacksboro; grandsons, Owen and Max Boshears; great grandson, Robert Kirby and girlfriend Carley Kitts; sister, Joann Parks: special cousin Jackie Rains; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. George Asbury and Rev. Jacob Cochran officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, to go in funeral procession to Mt. Paran Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment with Rev. Bill Rutherford officiating.
The family would to thank the staff of Tennova LaFollette Medical Center, Tennova LaFollette Health and Rehab, Amedisys Home Health, and Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care they provided for their mother.
