TCAT Jacksboro’s Camilla Gambrel receives SOAR Award

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Jacksboro’s Camilla Gambrel received the Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Staff of the Year at the award ceremony held last week at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville.
Gambrel is TCAT Jacksboro’s Dual Enrollment Counselor and has been employed at TCAT for 10 years. She is also a TCAT Jacksboro graduate and received her LPN Certificate in 2014.
You see her all over TCAT Jacksboro’s campus, giving tours to prospective students and working hard to promote higher education and workforce development in Campbell County.
She represented the East Tennessee Region. The award was presented by the Tennessee Board of Regents to “recognize her excellence in higher education.”

“Winning this award means the world to me! It’s an affirmation that all the hard work is recognized. Anything I can do to highlight TCAT Jacksboro, and my community makes me feel a sense of accomplishment. I eat, breathe and sleep student success and workforce development and I am just so overwhelmed with joy to have received this recognition,” Gambrel said.
The SOAR program is a statewide program that includes all 27 TCATs in Tennessee. The program includes extensive nomination, application, and interview processes at the local, regional and state levels to determine the state-wide winner. The SOAR Community College and TCAT College of the Year trophies are awarded to colleges that demonstrate a sustained commitment to and proactive advancement of the causes of student success and workforce development.
Gambrel said she was honored to receive the recognition.

“What an incredible honor! I am beyond excited and extremely proud of TCAT Tennessee College of Applied Technology – Jacksboro. I truly believe we have the best president, faculty, staff, and students in the state! Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and support,” Gambrel said.

Camilla deserves this award among many others as she is a Strong Shining Starlight on the Jacksboro campus. She helps Campbell County shine as well.
