Geneva Brown age 98 of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Park West Medical Center. She was born on February 10, 1927, to the late Nathan Boshears and Edna Nelson. Geneva was saved at the age of 10 at Demory Baptist Church and married the love of her life Charlie Brown. After she was married, she joined Grantsboro Baptist Church and was their oldest living member. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and every child she knew, and everyone knew her as Mamaw Brown. She also loved making cookies and Kool-Aid for bible school.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Brown; brothers Leon, Arthur, George, and Garfield Boshears; sisters Ella Housey, Josephine Cooper, and infant sister Juanita Boshears.
Geneva is survived by her son Nathan Brown and wife Darlene of Englewood, TN; daughters Edna Shepherd of Chattanooga, TN and Nancy Mills of Knoxville; grandchildren Charles Shepherd and wife Leah, Lee Phillips, Andrea Tierney and husband Brian, Allison Phillips, and Jessica Shockey and husband Danny; great grandchildren Patrick, Rose Mary, Neva Lynn, Gracie, Camilla, Noah, Tyler, and Lindsey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends will meet at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Pond Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. David Goins and Rev. Charles Shepherd officiating.
