JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- County Commissioners elected Johnny Bruce once again as the chair of the commission at its Monday meeting. Commissioner Rusty Orick was elected as vice chair of the commission.
“Thank you for the vote. I appreciate it and I hope I can live up to your expectations. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the chairman of this commission,” Chairman Bruce said.
Bruce and Orick were the only nominees for the positions and were approved unanimously.
The commission also approved committee appointments, including the FMS (financial management system), airport board, beer board, addiction awareness committee, insurance and personnel committee, building and grounds, communications committee, industrial committee, jail committee, legislative affairs, non-profit committee, rules and ethics, recreation committee, sanitation committee, ways and means committee, waterline line extension, planning commission, among others.
Commissioners from each of the county’s five districts serve on these various committees. These appointments were ratified on Monday evening.
Budget amendments were approved as well.
Also approved Monday was a Cloud Connect Contract for the Campbell County School system, along with the purchase of new chairs for the Campbell County Circuit Court room at the courthouse.
An ALPR (Automatic License plate recognition) agreement for the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department was approved, as was the application for several recycling grants which will benefit the County Sanitation Department and sanitation center. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/17/2024-6AM)
