Campbell Football looks to keep improving
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “We gave ourselves a chance to win the ball game, and that’s the main thing,” said Campbell Head Football Coach Mark Pemberton. The veteran coach’s comment came following the Cougars 29-7 loss on Friday night against the Dragons at Clinton.

Through three, maybe three and a half quarters, Campbell was right there trailing 13-7. “We just gotta put a whole game together,” said Coach Pemberton.
Slight changes were made during Monday’s practice as Pemberton simplified the offense even more. A ton of reps this week, not a lot of plays, is how the coach described what’s ahead this week for the Cougars. “It ain’t real complicated,” said Pemberton at Monday afternoon’s session.
Skill players Luke Lindsay, Keagon Cowan, Gavin Owens, Timmy Gibson and Sam Sexton began the extra reps yesterday afternoon. The Cougars ran a mix of running and passing plays to finish out the day.
Pemberton is looking for more consistency from his offensive line. A little more time is being spent this week on special teams than usual.
As practice ended Monday, Pemberton said, “See you Tuesday. Come ready to work.”
