Drop off your donations at the La Follette Church of God Gymnasium/Family Life Center

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- “We are receiving anyone who wants to donate water, non-perishable food, hygiene products, disinfectant items, toilet paper and tissue,” said Michael Dent, Pastor of the La Follette Church of God. The church that sits on the hill across from the high school has been designated as a flood recovery staging area.

Dent and church members have taken their gymnasium-family life center and turned it into a place to receive donations until the need is met. “This will be days and weeks; maybe even months,” said Dent.

“This is a non-denominational effort, and we’re going to do everything we can to help our people in that Smoky Mountain region,” said Dent. They will not forsake the local community, according to the pastor. “If you need help, we want to help you, too,” said Dent.

The energetic pastor emphasizes that this is not just a Church of God project as he calls on pastors of other churches and their congregations to come together and help.

“Let’s all reach out and make a difference,” said Dent.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: TCAT and the sheriff’s office are accepting bottled waters to also help our East Tennessee neighbors. Simply drop off your donations at either location. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/30/2024-6AM)
