JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- It was almost 4am last Wednesday morning when Jacksboro Police Officer Therman Pearson was on routine patrol and noticed a stopped SUV near the police station. As Pearson approached the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, he could see two people inside.

The man behind the wheel, Ryan Gentry, explained to the officer that the SUV had lost all power and would not start. Gentry’s passenger, Jennie Carre appeared nervous, and each showed signs of being “manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance”, according to Pearson.

Upon further investigation, the officer learned Gentry had multiple warrants for his arrest, and his driver’s license was revoked.

A search of the SUV allegedly resulted in the discovery of a glass pipe, a clear baggie suspected of containing Methamphetamine, and several bank cards. A Visa debit card and GreenDot Banking card in another man’s name and a Community Federal Savings Bank debit card, in a woman’s name were found. Gentry stated the man was letting him use his card, and that the woman was his ex-girlfriend, based on the police report.

Each was booked into the Campbell County Jail.

Ryan Alvin Gentry, 45, of Knoxville was charged with possession/manufacture/sell schedule II (meth), simple possession of schedule II (meth), driving while in possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with license suspended/cancelled/revoked.

Jennie Carre, 50, of Knoxville was charged with public intoxication and simple possession of schedule II (meth).

Gentry remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning while Carre was released on her own recognizance (ROR). (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/17/2026-6AM)
