JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Today, after a one day jury trial, a Campbell County jury convicted Darryl Jay Stanford of assault on a law enforcement officer times two as charged in the indictment at the Campbell County Courthouse.

The conviction stems from the assault of two correction officers at the Campbell County Jail.

The case was prosecuted by Captain Brian Osborn of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

Following the guilty verdict, Criminal Court Judge Zachary R. Walden ordered a pre-sentence investigation report and set the case for sentencing on August 31, 2026.

At trial, the state was represented by Assistant District Attorneys General Blake A. Mullins and Lindsey C. Cadle. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/16/2026-5PM)
