LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF) -The Office of District Attorney General Jared Effler in partnership with the Children’s Centers of Campbell, Claiborne, Fentress, Scott and Union Counties will be hosting the 10th Annual Dixie Roofing Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament on Thurs., Oct. 2 and Fri., Oct. 3 at Iron Mountain Sporting Clays in Kodak. The event is to raise funds to support the Children’s Centers as they serve abused and neglected children.
This is a 100 shot competition where shooters will participate in teams of four. Both individual and team prizes will be awarded. There will be silent and live auctions on both days. If you would like to participate as a shooter, donate an item for the auctions, or volunteer at the event, please contact LeAnn Cupp at lmcupp@tndagc.org or by phone at (865)992-8826.
“We are expecting this year’s Clays for Children to be our largest event to date. Please make plans to join us for a great time as we support the worthy mission of our Children’s Centers,” Effler said.
Last year’s Dixie Roofing Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament netted $115,000, a new record total for the event. With 138 teams and 545 individual shooters participating, the 2024 event was the largest to date. That money ensured that the Children’s Centers continued their worthy mission of serving abused and neglected children.
The Children’s Centers of the Eighth Judicial District serve hundreds of children each year and work closely with local law enforcement and the district attorney general’s office. They assist with medical examinations, forensic interviews, counseling, and court proceedings. The services the centers provide help to ensuring that justice is served upon the perpetrators of crimes against children and help victims navigate the court system and receive the resources they need.
