Lady Cougars, Cougars tennis has very successful day at Claiborne

Campbell sweeps Claiborne County

NEW TAZEWELL, TN (WLAF)- The Lady Cougars and Cougars tennis squads, led by first year head coach Rusty Fields, faced off against Claiborne County on Monday.

For the doubles matches, both boys and girls, CC swept Claiborne.

For the girls side, teams of Addie Terry and Callie Byrd, Preslee Chapman and Jade Higdon, and Kourtney Torres and Alivia Lawson picked up wins by scores of 6-0, 6-1, and 6-1.

The Cougars teams consisted of Johann Vanhalle and Malachi Miesel, Gavin Cox and Will Croley, and Hunter Dotson and Jack Stooksbury. These Cougar doubles scored wins of 6-1, 6-0, and 6-3.

As for the single matches, the Lady Cougars’ Callie Byrd, Preslee Chapman, Jade Higdon, Kourtney Torres, and Danni Hammack all won their matches.

For the boys, Johann Vanhalle, Gavin Cox, Will Croley, Malachi Miesel, and Hunter Dotson beat the Bulldogs. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-03/11/2025-6AM)
