La Follette Fire Department’s ladder unit, Unit 108, is enroute to the fire

JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – The call of smoke coming from the roof of Cox & Son Funeral Home came in to Central Dispatch around 2:15 Wednesday afternoon. The Jellico Fire Department answered the call soon assisted by firefighters with the Jellico Rescue Squad.

The back side of the structure is on fire with heavy smoke, according to one official. Jellico Police is monitoring 5th Street as traffic continues to flow in front of the funeral home.

Two units from the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department are headed to Jellico to assist after a 3:50pm page-out.
