JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A local couple was recognized at Monday’s County Commission meeting for acting as the first camp host at the new Lonas Young Park campground at its inaugural opening earlier this month.

John and Susan Branam received a certificate of recognition for their efforts in acting as the camp host during the free weekend that the county held a drawing for several weeks ago. 

“We appreciated everything that you did; you did a great job helping people out there,” said Commissioner Rusty Orick. 

Orick also said that the inaugural weekend of camping went well and that he thought the campground “was going to be a great thing for the county.”

“Several of us drove through, and we saw what you did, you were definitely a camp host,” said Commission Chairman Johnny Bruce. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/18/2023-6AM)

      A WLAF story from last week reads: According to Commissioner Dewayne Baird, the hope is to have it “renting by the end of the month.”
