Motorcyclist injured in wreck airlifted to a Knoxville hospital

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Skid marks, a rider on the pavement in the middle of the street and a broken motorcycle chain were all found by first responders Wednesday afternoon along North Indiana Avenue.

“We think the chain broke, and that threw everything out of kilter,” said one LaFollette Police Officer.

The man, by himself, was headed north up Indiana Avenue when the accident occurred at the East Prospect Street intersection in front of the former Morton-Wilson Hardware building.

North Indiana Avenue and East Prospect were temporarily shutdown as traffic was diverted.

LaFollette Fire and Police along with Campbell EMS responded just after 5pm.

The patient was transported to the LaFollette Medical Center. The 67-year-old male was flown to a Knoxville hospital lifting off from LMC’s helicopter pad around 5:40pm. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/29/2026-5:45PM-UPDATED 6:15PM)
