Holbrook arrested for late night speeding, DUI

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Eighty-four miles per hour in a 40 mph zone is part of the details emerging about a driver speeding through the City of LaFollette late Monday night. LaFollette Police Sgt. Dillon Marney was alerted by another driver by way of the City’s E-911 center of a possible DUI driver heading into LaFollette from the west.

The sergeant was able to locate the speeding black compact car, allegedly noticed that the driver was likely DUI and attempted a traffic stop. The car passed the Sonic Drive-In, drove on into town and then turned onto North Tennessee Avenue. As the car sped up the avenue, it lost control and hit a fence and a power pole across from LUB, momentarily stopping. Marney could be heard on the video above commanding the suspect to “let me see your hands,” the report said. Then the car allegedly sped away with police following.

The car headed up South Hwy 25W-State Route 9. It was eventually stopped by Marney at 1527 Jellico Hwy, about two and a half miles from where the car lost control on North Tennessee Avenue.

Just before midnight, the suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Campbell County Jail. Twenty-one year old Andrew Holbrook of La Follette was charged with speeding, DUI, vandalism, reckless driving and evading arrest. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/29/2026-6AM)
