JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Karns Lady Beavers came to Brown Gym on Friday to battle your Lady Cougars on Senior Night. With a Lady Cougar win, Campbell would finish tied for second place in the district 3-4A standings.

It was a slow start for the Lady Cougars as in a blink of an eye Campbell trailed Karns 6-0, prompting a Jason Kitts timeout. This ignited the Lady Cougars, as Campbell exploded for a 12-0 run. At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Cougars lead Karns 12-9.

In the second quarter, the Lady Cougars and Lady Beavers both totaled 9 points apiece. At the half, Campbell lead Karns 21-18.

In the second half, the Beaver’s dam began to break. The strongest blow was delivered by Saylor Hutcheson who drained three long shots. The Lady Cougar defense kept up the pace from the first half, holding Karns to only 17 points.

When the horn sounded, the Lady Cougars were on top of Karns 46-35.

Saylor Hutcheson and Lacey Pemberton topped the scoring chart for Campbell with 12 points apiece. Hutch and Pemberton also gained Local Realtor Gage Dople Player of the Game honors. Carley Kitts tallied 10 on the night. Bella Lester scored six. Jayden Kitts contributed four points, and Reagan Davis rounded out the scoring column with two points.

Campbell, Karns, and Powell all finished tied for second place in the district standings. Numbers were drawn to determine the seeding of the teams. Your Lady Cougars drew the 3rd seed, putting them in action against Central (the 6 seed) at Central on Tuesday night. Karns drew the 2 seed and Powell is the 4 seed.
