Joseph Wayne Wolf, formerly of Hagerstown, Maryland, and a longtime resident of LaFollette, Tennessee, peacefully passed away at home on September 19, 2023, at the age of 85.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John F. B. Wolf and Glennie Ebersole Wolf; grandparents Harry E. Wolf and Hellen D. Yeisley-Wolf and Franklin J. Ebersole and Eva G. Snyder- Ebersole; and his late wife Carol Ann White-Wolf.

Joseph is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Bryon and Jessica Wolf and Brad Wolf; grandchildren Tinley Wolf; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Joseph’s educational journey was a testament to his dedication to nature and the outdoors. He began his academic pursuit at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina, were his passion for the natural world first flourished. This passion led him to the University of West Virginia, where he earned his degree in agriculture and forestry. During his college years, Joseph was a proud and active member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.

After completing his education, Joseph continued his commitment to service by enlisting in the West Virginia National Guard in 1962. He served his country with honor and dedication until his honorable discharge in 1966.

Joseph was also a registered forester, a testament to his lifelong dedication to the field of agriculture and forestry. He will always be remembered for his ever-present smile and his remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He had an unbridled love for antiques, a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, and a passion for fishing that brought him immense joy throughout his life.

Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown, Maryland, for gravesides services with Rev. Bo Freeman officiating and military honors provided.
