Services for retired long time City of La Follette Fire Chief Wayne Gregg were Thursday.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – As rain fell, mourners filed through Walters Funeral Home Thursday evening to pay their respects to the family of retired City of La Follette Fire Chief Wayne Gregg.

The American Flag hung from the La Follette Fire Department’s ladder unit reaching from South 6th Street over East Central Avenue. Firefighters arrived at 4pm Thursday to get into place with the flag and fire units. “We’re going to hang the fireman’s flag from the front porch flag pole, too,” said LFD Chief Jimmy Pack.

Gregg served the City for 36 years with nearly half of those as fire chief. He retired in 2010.

The flag stretches over East Central Avenue.

The 70- year- old Gregg passed away Monday.
