Showers, heavy at times, prompt flooding concerns along with strong wind gusts the next 36 hours
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- It’s a cloudy, foggy, rainy day as wind speeds begin to increase all the while the potential for flooding is a concern. Through Friday evening is when the brunt of the showers, high winds and flooding arrives.
Highs through the weekend will play around 70-degrees while lows stay close to 60. The high winds run through Saturday as Saturday and Sunday bring partly sunny days and slight chances of rain.
A HIGH WIND WATCH is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday evening as a FLOOD WATCH runs from sun up Thursday through Friday afternoon.
Rain chances do not go away but begin diminishing by game time Friday for the Cougars and Boone playing at the Tri-Cities. However, winds will be gusting at high speeds during the game.
Damaging wind could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible while travel could be difficult especially for high profile vehicles.
