Wlaf1450Campbell ventures to the tri-cities to take on Daniel Boone High Friday night
Campbell Head Football Coach Mark Pemberton directs Timmy Gibson to that side of the formation for a double wideout set at Monday’s practice. The speedy Gibson graded out highest on special teams and was named the special teams player of the week. His biggest highlight was a 77 yard kick-off return.
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell offense went through its usual Monday practice in shirts and shorts, no helmets or pads. The 1 & 4 Cougars are preparing for Friday’s non-region match-up with Boone at Gray. The Trailblazers, hosting homecoming on Friday, are in search of their first win of the season. The Blazers have graduated 42 seniors over the past couple of seasons.
Boone, sporting a brand new stadium and a two year old turf field, is 0 & 5. The Blazers are giving up 43 points a game and have only scored 14 points so far this season. The Cougars have had a rough first half of the regular season at 1 & 4 though Campbell is showing signs of improvements each game with its best half of the season coming last week in its loss to Lenoir City.
