Jacksboro man arrested Friday afternoon at his home

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Sheriff’s Investigators concluded a two month long investigation on Friday afternoon ending with a drug raid at a home at 134 Par Massengill Lane, just off McDeerman Road, Jacksboro.

CCSO Det. Sgt. David Wormsley along with members of the Sheriff’s Drug Unit executed a narcotics search warrant to Jerry Steven Massengill at 1:30pm. The 58- year -old Massengill was home at the time of the raid and was detained while the residence was searched, a release from the department said.

Allegedly recovered were several bottles of Gabapentin, Oxycodone and Suboxone Strips, all located behind a locked door leading to the basement of the home, according to the sheriff’s report. Some of the narcotics were concealed inside an old metal mailbox. The mailbox was hidden in the rafters of the basement above the duct work, strapped and locked with a padlock.

A large amount of small plastic zip lock baggies commonly used to distribute narcotics illegally were found with the bottles, based on the report. This discovery convinced investigators Massengill had been selling the narcotics illegally.

A total of $3,550 in cash along with 639 dosage units of an unknown drug, 683 dosage units of Oxycodone and 14 dosage units of Clonazepam was found though not to be used as evidence, according to the CCSO Arrest Report.
