Ridgewood and Caryville Volunteer Fire departments battle a structure fire

An abandoned building burned to the ground on Tuesday in south Campbell County.

RIDGEWOOD, TN (WLAF)- Just after 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, firefighters with the Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Department along with mutual aid from the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire along Highway 116 near the former A & S Steel building.

An abandoned structure on fire in the 1900 block of Highway 116 was extinguished in less than an hour, according to RVFD Chief Joseph Roach.
