RUTLEDGE, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County High School’s JROTC Raiders are out on top once again, this time winning first place at the Grainger Raider Ironman Competition held in Rutledge over the weekend.
Saturday’s competition took place at Grainger High School from 8 am to 2pm.

“The students did great; we placed first in the Male Division with a total time of 42:13 seconds. It was the fastest time for both divisions,” said CCHS JROTC Instructor Major Mike Lester.
“Teamwork” was once again key to the success of CCHS Raiders who compete in events that require the group to work together smoothly to achieve top results in the quickest time.
The JROTC Raiders have continued to make “gains” at competitions since the start of the school year, coming in with first place finishes at the last two competitions.

They competed at the Clarkrange Raider Competition on August 24th, earning numerous awards and wins, including 4th overall Male division, first place in the Truck and Pull Run and second in the Rope Bridge. They earned a second-place overall win on September 7th at the Fairview Raider Competition and took first place in Warren County on September 21st. Saturday’s event was the fourth competition of the season, with several more to go.
“It’s nonstop events all back-to-back, we stay pretty busy,” Lester said.
Lester also said he wanted to say a “Huge thanks to Grainger County High School JROTC for hosting and inviting us to a great comp!”

The CCHS Raiders will compete next at Army Raider Nationals which is October 26-27th at Fort Knox and All-Service Raider Nationals in Molena, Georgia, on November 2-3rd. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/09/2024-6AM)
