You can see the lights from the locomotives just off Coke Oven Lane. There is a ravine of sorts between the lane and the railroad tracks preventing first responders from getting to the actual scene of the partial derailment from this angle.

The word from La Follette officials is that three locomotives ended up with one wheel off the track, and that all cars are upright. The main concern was about the hazardous materials this train is reportedly carrying. There are no leaks and all is safe where the hazardous loads are concerned, according to La Follette Police.

The larger La Follette Fire Department units stayed near the Ivydell train trestle rather than trying to squeeze up Coke Oven Lane.

Today’s incident occurred just yards north of the Ivydell train trestle.
