A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The driver of a 2015 Ford F350 truck allegedly failed to yield to a pedestrian in the roadway striking the pedestrian, fatally injuring him, while he was crossing the road, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred on Wednesday at 9:22am at the intersection of East Central and Indiana Avenues. Police said 61-year-old Johnathan Davis, La Follette, began crossing East Central Avenue at the cross walk at the intersection from the southeast corner to northeast corner. The cross walk connects the Cross-Smith Funeral Home corner to the Red Roof Market corner.
The truck was turning left off North Indiana Avenue heading towards the valley on East Central Avenue when the collision occurred, according to WLAF’s video footage.
The truck, driven by 66 -year- old Richard Turner, La Follette, came to a controlled final rest in lanes 1 and 2 on East Central Avenue. Turner was listed as injured in the THP report while two juvenile passengers, an eight- and 12-year-old, were not injured.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, the report said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-03/28/2025-6AM)
