Jacksboro 44 Pigeon Forge 32

CLINTON, TN (WLAF) – Jacksboro traveled to Anderson County High School on Thursday night for a sectional semifinal matchup against Pigeon Forge.
It was a physical first quarter, one where Jacksboro led at the end of the frame 9-5.

Pigeon Forge answered in the second quarter. At halftime, the Lady Tigers led Jacksboro 20-17.
Jacksboro came out on fire in the third quarter. The Blue-and-Gold outscored Pigeon Forge 16-3 to lead 33-23 entering the fourth quarter.

All Jacksboro would have to do is hang on for one more quarter, and they did just that. The Lady Eagles soared to a 44-32 victory.

The Lady Eagles set up on defense in a 2-3 zone, much like what they will play when they move on to Campbell High.
Julie Lawson led scoring for the Lady Eagles with 15 points, 12 of those coming from long range. Khloe Johnson contributed a strong 12 points. Addy Coleman finished with eight points. Kaylee Albright and Alexa York totaled three points apiece. Kylie Perkins tallied two, and Brooklyn Rutherford rounded out the score book with one point.

Jacksboro advances to the sectional final, one win away from a state tournament birth. It’s a rematch of last years’ game. The Alcoa Lady Tornadoes stand in the way of the Blue-and-Gold.
