On Friday morning, The Doorway Gourmet was celebrated as the “April Business of the Month”

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The very first business chosen as the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism “Business of the Month” was The Doorway Gourmet. That was in 2021. On Friday, The Doorway Gourmet was celebrated again, this time as the latest “Business of the Month”. “The Doorway Gourmet does so much in the community, and the folks here have such kind hearts,” said Dena Miller with the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.

WLAF’s Charlie Hutson gathered everyone for a photo before the next raindrops came through on Friday morning.

“We (The Doorway Gourmet) wanted to help people in drug recovery programs through the Annie Caldwell Foundation; to be able to grant organizations in Campbell County that do work in recovery,” said Nancy Thompson, founder and operator of The Doorway Gourmet. A donor in California funds a lot of what The Doorway Gourmet does, according to Thompson.

“This is a wonderful program and ministry you have here,” said Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch. “The Lord has done so much here. It’s not about food. It’s about our community and our partnerships,” said Thompson.

Nancy Thompson, always so gracious, welcomes everyone to Friday’s celebration.
