LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was in town on Wednesday investigating a couple of fires; one from Tuesday night and the other from last week. “The TBI and La Follette Police are investigating the fire we had on South 6th Street Tuesday night. This is strictly for cause and determination, because the fire destroyed one home and damaged another home plus there was other property damage, nothing criminal,” said La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack.

This home on South 6th Street was also damaged.

The fire that left a La Follette home a total loss on Tuesday night was called in to 911 just before midnight. “With the way the wind was blowing so hard, we’re lucky we didn’t lose the whole neighborhood,” said Chief Pack. Firefighters from the Caryville Volunteer and Jacksboro Fire Departments provided mutual aid.

The TBI is also investigating the cause of this house fire that happened on February 25 on Farris Circle at Fincastle.

The TBI is also investigating a fire that wiped out a home on Farris Circle in the Fincastle community. The fire began around 6:30am on Tuesday, February 25. Even though that fire was outside the city limits, La Follette’s Fire Department assisted.

“We should have a report back from the TBI in a couple of weeks,” said Chief Pack. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-03/06/2025-6AM)
