Campbell County Rural Fire Service responds to afternoon fire

The fire in this field was contained to about two acres.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- On Sunday afternoon, firefighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service battled a fire in a field behind Elm Grove Church off Old Middlesboro Highway.

“We were able to stop the fire before it reached any of the nearby structures,” said Captain Daniel Lawson of the CCRFS.

The wind was making the fire move a little faster in the tall grass and vegetation, according to Captain Lawson.

Structures were saved from this Sunday afternoon fire.

  1. People need to stop using the road ways for their own personal ashtrays and garbage cans and then they won’t be so many fires!
