Damaging wind, heavy rainfall, flooding are the main threats from the stronger storms
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Today through Sunday look to be fairly active, with multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected to affect much of Campbell County and the area ahead of a cold front that will be approaching from the west. Temperatures will remain near seasonal norms through Saturday, but expect a cool down for Sunday behind the cold front.
Friday brings a partly sunny, breezy day with a high of 86 and a feels-like temperature of 95. Showers and storms are likely, and this forecast will be much the same on Saturday.
A line of strong storms will move through Campbell County and the region this afternoon, with some severe storms and localized flooding possible. Damaging winds will be the primary threat with any severe storms.
Shower and thunderstorm chances continue through the weekend and into Monday. High pressure begins to build in next week, with northwest flow expected leading to generally cool and mainly rain-free weather. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED- 08/16/2024-6AM)
