LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The City of La Follette’s workshop was held last Monday with the regular meeting generally coming on Tuesday the week after. However, the September regular meeting has been moved out to Tue., the 10.

Among the items on the Sep. 10 agenda is to appoint Chris Smith to Interim Recreation Director. Smith, a long time employee of the Rec Dept., is expected to replace Johnny Byrge who is retiring with his last day being Friday. Byrge is running to become the mayor of La Follette in the November election and cannot hold the rec director position and serve as mayor at the same time.
