Hours are 10am to 2pm at Woodson’s Mall and Veterans Memorial Park

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Campbell United has two drug take-back events scheduled for Sat., April 26, in Campbell County.

Campbell United has expanded and is holding the takeback at multiple locations for this year’s event and will have a drop-off location on the north and south sides of the county.

“Both events will be on Saturday, April 26, from 10am until 2pm, at Woodson’s Mall and at Jellico Veterans Memorial Park,” said Charlsa Honeycutt, Director of the Campbell United Anti-Drug Coalition.

You are encouraged to turn in unneeded medication for safe disposal.

These Drug Take Back events are part of a national outreach effort by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Campbell United participated last year with an event at Woodson’s Mall and netted nearly 80 pounds of unwanted prescription medications, keeping them out the hands of kids and out of the landfills and the water system.

“Participating in these types of events is not only good for the community, but good for our coalition as well in getting grants because the state loves when we partner and participate in these kinds of efforts,” according to coalition organizers. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/24/2025-6AM)
