JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Commission held a brief workshop on Monday evening, setting the agenda for next week, including several resolutions, as well as a contract for the school system, among other business items.
Commissioners discussed resolutions which will be voted on next week, these include a tax litigation resolution, which provides compensation for the general sessions court judge in Campbell County. Once the resolution is approved, the litigation tax will go down from $50 to $45. To pass, this resolution requires a two-thirds majority vote.
Another resolution authorizing the county to apply for an airport grant fund will also be voted on. The airport grant would require a local match not greater than 5-percent.
The Airport Improvement Grant Funding would be used for the proposed lighting project at the Campbell County Airport at a total project cost of approximately $800,152. The resolution, if approved, would commit the county to the 5-percent match of funds if the grant is received. This match equates to approximately $40,008.
The resolution also authorizes to engage the engineering firm of AtkinsRealis to perform the necessary services to facilitate the submittal of the project documentation for the lighting project in the amount of $21,300 to begin the grant application process.
Commissioners will also vote next week for the County’s General Sessions Recovery Court to accept a grant contract between the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse for $56,000.
The approval of two communication contracts between Campbell County Public Schools and Active Internet Technologies/Final site will also be on the agenda.
Final business that will be on the agenda next week will be to “approve distribution funding for all commissioners to be distributed.” Commission Chairman Johnny Bruce said the commission would do that next Monday night and asked for commissioners to have their lists ready.
