Tax levy, budget approval, recognitions set for next week’s commission agenda

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Approval of the tax levy, with no increase, as well as approval of the county’s budget and appropriations, along with a multitude of recognitions will top the county commission’s agenda next Monday.
County commission members held a workshop on Monday evening, building the agenda for next week.
The 2026 tax levy resolution will be on next week’s agenda with no tax increase. The property tax levy remains the same at $1.2156.
Also voted on next week will be the 2026 appropriations resolution totaling $108,659, 995, along with the 2026 consolidated budget.
A resolution for the compensation tax for the General Sessions Judge will be voted on again. This issue was voted on last month but failed for lack of a super majority vote which is required to pass.
A Recovery Court grant contract will be up for approval as will renewal of the Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance at an increase of 8 percent.
Multiple government offices, officials and others will be recognized by commissioners at next Monday’s meeting.
The Campbell County Sanitation Department, Campbell County 911, and County Litter Patrol Officer Glennis Monday will all be recognized.
The Campbell County High School tennis team will be recognized by commissioners, as will the Morristown Marine winners at Watts Bar, which were Trevor and Derrick Goins. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-05/12/2026-6AM)
