Wlaf1450Raye Josephine Pilley Shoun, age 97, of Rocky Top, formerly of LaFollette, TN and Siler City, NC passed away Saturday May 9, 2026. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Siler City, NC and former member of First Baptist Church in LaFollette. She was a retired school teacher after many years of service. Preceded in death by husband Rev. John L. Shoun, Jr, sons John Shoun III, and Timothy Shoun.
She is survived by:
Daughters: Lisa and Tina
Sons: Peter and James
Several grandchildren and great grandchildren
The family will receive friends from 10- 11:30 AM Thursday May 14 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and then proceed to Bakers Forge Cemetery for 12 Noon graveside service and interment with Rev. Jason Golden officiating

Raye was one of the dearest people I ever met. I knew her and Preacher Shoun all of my life. They were my Demory neighbors. I love her and I know she deserved to live 98 years. God bless Lisa and all the family.
