Rep. Dennis Powers appointed Chairman of Public Acts Committee in Tennessee House of Representatives
NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Last week, the Tennessee Legislature formally announced the appointment of Representative Dennis Powers as Chairman of the Public Acts Committee in the Tennessee House of Representatives. There are only 13 Full Chair positions available to the 99 members, so this prestigious appointment underscores the commitment to exemplary public service and leadership within our community and state. For the past six years, Powers has served as the Chair of the House Banking and Consumer Affairs Subcommittee.

In the upcoming 114th General Assembly, Rep. Powers will also be serving on five other committees: Judiciary, State and Local Government, Child and Family Affairs Subcommittee, Department and Agencies Subcommittee and the Calendar and Rules Committee.

In the capacity of Public Acts Chairman, Rep. Dennis Powers will diligently collaborate with fellow representatives to address the critical issues confronting our state. The collective efforts will be directed towards enacting policies that foster economic growth, elevate education standards, improve healthcare accessibility, and ensure the safety and well-being of all Tennesseans.

Representative Powers represents the 36th House District, which consists of Campbell County, Union County and half of Claiborne County. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/21/2025-6AM)
