With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Portia Renee Ivey, who left this world far too soon on June 2, 2025, at the age of 42.
Portia had a deep love for the simple joys in life. She found happiness in thrift shopping, collecting antiques, a love for classic cars and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Her generous spirit and love for people shone through in everything she did. She had a natural gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and she never hesitated to go out of her way for family, friends, or even strangers.
More than anything, Portia adored her family. She was a mother to Alexis Gibson and Christian Holman, and a proud grandmother to Jasper Wilson, Oliver Holman, and Waylon Holman. She is also survived by her loving mother, Joyce Baird; her brother, Mark Ivey; her nephew, Tyler Ivey; and many other close family members and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Portia was preceded in death by her father, Henry Ivey; her grandmother, Margie White; and her beloved son, Xavier Ivey.
Those who knew Portia will remember her for her caring soul, her kind heart, and the way she made others feel seen and loved. Her unexpected departure has left many broken hearts behind, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 6, 2025 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Bo Freeman officiating. The family will meet on Saturday June 7, 2025 at 10:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Powell Valley Cemetery.
The family has entrusted the care of Portia Renee Ivey to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most.”
