That’s Joshua Goins on his rescue horse Blaze

“We make the Sonic fairly often on our travels. Blaze loves their tater tots, the large size,” said Joshua Goins.
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A one time star of the rope and barrel race circuit, Blaze, the 20-year old horse, is showcased easing along the four lane in La Follette these days. “We ride as often as we can, usually until one of us gets tired,” said Joshua Goins.
Goins, a life long Campbell Countian, grew up in Fincastle and now lives on his farm on Back Valley Road. “Blaze came to me out of Arizona, and I also have three other horses considered rescues,” said Goins.

Saturday afternoon was when Blaze and Joshua were out and about on West Central Avenue.
Blaze leaves with Goins in the saddle from the front of the barn, and they’re likely to ride for a couple of hours, sometimes four or even all day. “We go in all types of weather, except we avoid the extreme heat,” said Goins.
When Blaze begins wanting to go in circles clues Goins in that he’s getting tired and ready to head back to the farm, according to Goins.

Joshua Goins and Blaze pause for a visit on their way to the Sonic Drive-In.
Blaze has been on the Goins farm a year come November, and he eats the standard horse fare of apples and carrots and such.
“We make the Sonic Drive-In fairly often on our travels. Blaze loves their tater tots, the large size,” said Goins. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/19/2024-6AM)
