JACKSBORO, TN(WLAF)- County Commissioners met on Monday evening for their February workshop. An Opioid abatement letter of agreement, sanitation policy procedures and other business were set on the agenda for the February 24th commission meeting.
A letter of Agreement for the Opioid Abatement fund disbursement for county entities will be voted on for approval at the next commission meeting.
The Opioid Abatement Council announced in the letter to the commission that $183,315.65 are coming to Campbell County. Funds are designated for Opioid abatement or remediation in the county. Commissioners also received a 22-page Campbell County Solid Waste and Recycling Policies and Procedures booklet.
“Our staff spent a lot of time on it, and they are pretty detailed,” said Sanitation Department Director David Adkins.
He asked for all commissioners to “read it and sign off on it” after it was approved at the next meeting.
Other business slated for the agenda is a grant contract with the Campbell County Health Department and the State of Tennessee, along with a carpeting project for the District Attorney General’s Office. The state is to fund $10,000 for the project, with the county to complete the funding.
